They are here...

I saw one a week ago with the same scenario. My dog Spruce had something in the brush and I told her to "Get It". I was surprised to see an Armadillo run out and across the ditch. I yelled to Bob; "Did you see him". He said; "See what?". I said the Armadillo that just ran out. We didn't have the camera that day but now we know for a fact that I was right.

Do I take that to mean you will be joining Eatmore and I in our endevour to find the big Muddy Monster and some Big Muddy Catfish during those summer nights ahead?

Absolutely. I'm sure that the elixirs mixed up by Big Pappy and Deno will help us on that journey should they choose to accompany us.

we used to shoot them down in LA, they would steel the gravel from your driveway. And I don't know why either.

Then we would just toss em in the red river.

I've heard they make good chili.

Bob, I've seen a lot of armadillos that close, but they were all flat. If they're all that fast, how come they can't get across a road before getting run over?

OK, more from my reading the other day. Apparently their defense mechanism is, when startled they jump straight up, to about 3 feet. Fine and dandy if a cougar or yote is after em, but the bottom of a truck is only about 18 inches... end o story.

Also they eat carrion, easily found along roads. It's like baiting them out to the pavement...

That's why we were able to clip em with the truck bumpers so easily...I know Bad ..but man...running West Texas and the border desert can get really boring...

Bob who would have thought..you are are going to be famous worldwide all because of an armadillo! Pretty soon you will need a publicist...
The moral of this story is..pack your camera along..you never know .....
It's really good to see positive news coming out of SILO and reaching the rest of the state and country...
not to mention..look at all the new people the web site is picking up!
