Got out yesterday morning for some Illinois river shooting. A little chilly just before sunup when I was running the river (moon looked cool over the river though) , but otherwise a perfect morning to be on the Illinois. Low wind and sunny for most of the early morning, and the grass carp were feeding on tree seed in the eddy currents. Not alot of them but enough to have alot of fun. They are very spooky of movement though and I had to take some pretty long shots from 20.9/10ths yards to 43.6/32nds. Wind came up around 10pm and the boaters showed up around 11. For the next couple weeks the grassies should be real good as the maples are about a week away from dropping seed.
