Found the smaller one first, just about 15 minutes into the hunt! Then I was so jazzed I could hardly think, and before I could even start to calm down BANG! another BIG MONSTER shed only 10-15 minutes after that! Dang, this is so fun! I can't wait to get out tomorrow, I saw rubs all over the place, I just hope there are more out there waiting for me.

To give an idea of how big it is, silly! :)

The big one looks pretty good for being over a year old. There must not be many tree rats in the area.

How can you tell it's over a year old? I always wondered about that. I looked all over it and there's not 1 chew mark! Not one! Dang, you mean there's (more) fresh ones out there?!!

Your JunkYard Dog appears to be guarding them.

In the first photo could that little sticker on the G-2 is the same on both. Anomaly or genetic trait within the herd?

Congrats !

Those are 2 dandy sheds.
That big one is a huge old buck.

I also noticed the similar sticker, at about the same spot on the g-2's on both right antlers.
I would say they are closely related bucks.

In the first picture, you see the stains in the antler from the soil and vegetation. The pedicle on the smaller one is still white, and the bigger one has a green stain on it. That is a sign to me that it has been there a while.
