Took a trip out to the big lake for the first time this year yesterday with BAI members Tony and Darryl. . It was pretty cold out there in the low 20`s with a brisk wind off the lake, but it was good to get out. Lots of mud in the lake from the winds but we got several shots at SL power, and Darryl connected on the first carp from the big lake.
After that we drove out to BP Amoco and had several shots at some big shad but that was about it. Saw some shad that were over 5 lbs! Was great just to shoot at fish again . Both of these areas are hot water discharges that usually hold carp in the 20-30 lb range and some huge shad this time of year. The steam seen on the second pic is from the warm water hitting the COLD air.
