well he is technically wild but has been here since september and doesnt even run off when we shoot clays so he is a pet in my eyes....

I'd say if you can get that close and been there since Sept. Definitely qualiifies as a pet. I need to find some pet turkeys too:)
I agree he is a pet unless your planning to invite him to dinner in April.
Old Tom sure looks like a cool bird.

I had a bow tag and didnt take the shot. believe me i was definately tempted but he has been pardoned by the govenor....lol

I wouldn't want to shoot him either, not after having "bonded" since September. But hey, maybe you can convince him to go hunting with you this spring! He'd be like the ultimate "B-Mobile" LOL :-)

I am bummed today i think he is sick he has been kinda sluggish for the last two days and today he was just laying out back then i saw him get up and mope off into the timber and i havent seen him since. he may just be out wandering looking for hens but he shure doesnt seem himself...:(
Bummer, keep us posted on how he is doing.

old tom is gone:(.... has been for a week i havent found a pile of feathers so i will just assume he went off to find his hens. I know where he liked to roost last spring so i am hoping to hear a gobble or two come from there come april....
Sorry he is not coming back for you to enjoy. Hope you hear him gobble this spring.
Maybe he was getting love sick and went searching. Hope he comes back to you.
