View Full Version : What kind do you use?
I was just wondering about gettin a digital trail cam, the 35mm just ain't cutting it anymore. What kind do you all use, and are they reasonably priced? I'm starting to think bout bowhunting already cuz fishin is gonna be slow for me now. Need to start savin up some money anc want some opinions on a reliable cam at a good price.
Thanks
Well I use cheapies. Wildview 2.0. They are about $50. I have 3 of em. The trigger can be slow, the flash range is short, but they do what I want em to, and if they disappear, I'm not out a lot.
Now FL's turn for the good stuff.
where the heck u finding them for $50?? cheapest i found was about $85-90 when i searched. And how slow are they? will they catch a walking deer or just ones at the baits?
I got the 1st one at WM for $50, then the wife got me 2 for Christmas. Bass Pro had a sale on a 2 pack of em for $70.
I think WM still has some...
Full Draw 07-10-2007, 23:37 I just got a Bass Pro Flyer in the mail today, it has the WildviewSTC-TGL digital game camera with a 5 gallon feeder combo(which is illegal in IL) for $59.88.
I have the moultrie gamespy 2.0 and 3.0. While they do have some nice features I am not very impressed. Mostly because of the trigger speed. I have done alot of playing with them and I am very displeased with the trigger speed. I feel like I am missing a ton of deer. I am planning of saving up my money to get a cuddyback. They are saposed to have very good trigger speed.
Digital is the way to go though. You save so much money on developing and you get the pix right away. Plus i have rechargeable batteries with mine, also saves money.
Bass turd that stole my digital probably doesn't have a computer...
a friend of mine bought the most expensive cuddyback available and has had nothing but trouble with it, he is 65 yrs old and the directions are very complicated, I think he wishes he would just bought a cheap one.
the homebrews are the way to go, flatlander could tell ya'll more about them, if he could stop thinkin' bout his bear hunt long enuff...he-he
how many more days?
See FL, it's not just me... LOL

If your friend is looking for a good store bought no flash look into the Predator Evolution.
Last I heard was going to be out July 5th but could be running late.
They have test pictures from it on there site and it blows cuddebacks no flash out of the water.
But yes I do prefer home brews, just like you do.
Any one wanting to look into home brew trai lcams just let me OR HunterZ know and either one can provide the sites to learn from.
By the way Bob he has it as bad if not worse then I.
He just got a small fix last year where as I haven't got one yet. LOL

I have a buddy who lives in AK, but is in Iraq right now. (Blackhawk pilot)
Next year we are planning a fishing/ spot and stalk w/ the ML.
I have no beef for those of you who do it, I just don't want to shoot a bear eating stale krispy kremes.
