None of mine have ever been bitten but my oldest Brittany has pointed 3 of them. Darndest thing I've ever seen, I let him run while I ride the 4 wheeler through the fields in the summer and all of a sudden he locks on point solid as can be. Whenever I go up to him I don't know if it's going to be quail, a rabbit, a turtle or a snake.
Hope the dog is alright.
Bet that hurts. My dog is always jackin w/ snakes...

My niece lives across the river on a bluff and her dog seems to get bitten at least once a year - and she has always recovered fine...but is usually pretty sore and gimpy for a while....they are overwhelmed with copperheads...seems like she chases at least one a month out of the house...and in the fall they just flock to her basement doors....
