This is my first photo posted here; I hope to continue with more. I like to see the feedback from the members here. It is my understanding that the photos entered must be from the current month. Is that true? Either way I took this last week in my backyard and thought I would post it. This antler has three toe like projections at the base and it is weighted just right to allow it to stand alone on end. I think it is interesting. Also I am trying to figure out this image posting process so if it does not show up I will try again.

Konica Minolta Di Image #'s?, its just a point and shoot. But i think it does a good job. Can't fork out the cash for something better right now.

I used to shoot with a KM A200 but my cam broke and am now using my old 5MP Nikon 5700, nothing wrong with the point and shoots. A wise person once told me an expensive camera doesn't make a good photographer. Right G?:)

Right you are Mdoc! One of the most stunning published macro and sky photographers I know is still using an old 5MP sony point and shoot..she refuses to upgrade, as she knows her camera inside and out and can wring the very best out of it.

I agree with both of you. I am perfectly content with its performance and try to make the best of it. I believe it is the eye behind the lens that makes for great photography.

Yes and No. When it comes to digital cameras there is a technical side and a creative art side. This is why you see so many husband wife photography teams. One typically understands the technical side of it and the other has a knack for the creative aspect. I consider my self very technical and easily pickup on the concept of exposure, dof, a so on. I easily understand how to manipulate these concepts and utilize my camera's features to my advantage BUT when it comes to the creative, artsy composition of a picture I SUCK. I find myself going through many photo's and reading their critiques and making notes of styles and poses and angles, not mention lighting setups. Great photography can just happen but it can also be carefully planned and executed. Anyway thats my $.02 anyone else have any thoughts?

I think you missed my point, I was just agreeing on the equipment aspect. Not the tech vs. artsy. The “eye” is connected to a brain which would have to contribute to both. I think the point is, one can create great things when they master the tools available to them.

I think you missed my point, being you can create great images by shooting automatic and having an eye for the creative aspect of it as well as knowing only the technical and mastering your tools. You would be surprised how many Pro's don't know the technical and shoot automatic. There is a lot to photography and with todays digital technology offers wonderful experiences for all types of people. I didn't mean anything negative. Just my thoughts.

Now that we have both pointed out that we’ve missed each other’s point. I didn’t take at as negative at all and did not mean to respond negatively. Just agreeing with previous comments as well as some of my own thoughts.
