Went to carlyle lake yesterday with a buddy who just got back from Iraq. We caught about five nice keeper saugers, two white bass, and he caught two keeper catfish. Both were channel cats with one I would say weighing 8-10 pounds. We caught all on minnows and jigs but mainly on the minnows fishing a slip bobber. We got out there at 5am and didn't leave till 5 in the afternoon. Good thing I had a cooler full of beer to last me that long. LOL.

Were you fishing the lake or the spillway? We fished the spillway Saturday. The fish seemed to be biting slower than usual. I caught a 4 pound channel on ultralight. My wife and I each had something that gave a sudden jerk while we were fighting it and broke the line. Got to watch one of my slip bobbers float away.
The spillway. The fish were biting slow but we didn't do to bad. we were catching them around 6 ft deep. But we had to sacrafice a lot of tackle in doing so.

Same here. Seems we caught more rocks than fish. We were fishing about 9 or 10 hours (broke for a bit to try taking the boat out). It didn't take long cleaning my catch this time.
