I didn't get home til after 8pm tonight, grabbed my fishin' rod and walked down to a little pond in the neighborhood about three houses away, caught one nice crappie, two nice gills, two warmouth and two bass, not bad for 15 minutes of fishing.

yes, I live in Chester, lived here since '98, before that I lived in Belleville and had some property on a strip mine lake in Lenzburg, bought that place in '90, sold it in 2000, that lake had some really good 'gill fishin'! now I live just up the street from Birchler's pond.

I love a good crappie or gill sandwich myself, but I threw the fish back last night, didn't feel like cleaning them, and i'm heading out this morning for work and won't be home til Friday afternoon. they'll be there when I get back.

dont know anyone at three springs but knew a guy that used to fish that lake and said he caught some good bass and crappie, as for birchlers, there is a new owner, but i just walk down there and make a few casts, guess I should find the owner, but the neighborhood kids fish there

Ever heard of Randolph Co Gun and Rod Club???My brothers a member there he could get some friends in there. Its the old strip mines at Schuline.
