O.K. So here's the deal. Been Huntin' em' hard almost every weekend, plus took 3 days off 2 weeks ago. Had some hen activity a few days, but didn't even hear a gobble all season. Talked to alot of guys who said they heard em' gobble, but real sparse. Tough to hunt a bird that won't talk. Anyway there I am with 2 hours left in my season walkin' around trying to find something ..... Anything, and I spook two birds feeding along a field edge. They flew up into the woods off the hillside so I set up right there. Spent the next hour and a half calling and dozing off. At around 11:15 I looked up and here comes this neck and head over the top of the hill. Sure enough It's a nice gobbler rolling right toward me. He took his time comin' in to the decoys and held up at 30 some yards. Then he stuck his head straight up and I knew he wasn't comin' any closer. I squeezed off a round and he ducked and ran. OH #@*! I squeezed another one off and he rolled over. Ended up with a 9 and 3/4 Inch beard and even one inch spurs. Not bad for my first turkey. :)
