Just to document area activity
Had the day off work and decided to go to Peabody to hunt, saw a coyote and a buck on the backroads before Freeburg on the way there. Got to Peabody about 5:40 (gates open at 6:00). By chance, MadadaM shows up about 5 mins later, and we were getting ready to go for when the gates opened. Except they didn't open. I sat there for almost 2 hours waiting, then finally decided to go to KRPD dock 1 for at least some hunting that morning  . I don't know what the deal was, but I would make sure to call the night before if you plan on going out to Peabody during the week at all.
Saw nothing at KRPD, then went back to Peabody and the gates were finally open. Got in stand about 1:30, perfect conditions for hearing deer (quiet as hell) until every blackbird in the county decided to sit in the trees above me around 4:00. They finally went away and I had about a half hour of hunting left, saw one doe out about 100 yds feeding for a second, never saw her again, no other sightings at all.
Good luck this weekend to everybody, hopefully they will be moving again.
