Here is a little month by month review of the BAI`s 08 activities. Had a heck of a good year, made lots of new friends and had some good times. Best think about the BAI IMO is all the great people we meet thru the year.
Here is hoping all you SILO viewers had a great 08, and hope your 09 is even better!!!!!

As always we got the new year off to a great start at our annual christmas party. I never get any pics from it, probably cause its too much fun to stop and take pics! But we had a great time and got our shoot/show schedule started.

Not much bowfishing going on.....but its show time! This year we hit the Chicagoland Outdoor Show for the first time. A great show and we got some new members there.....including RonB I think??

A great time....cant wait for this years show!

then it was on to the always fun Hammond Outdoor Show. While it was a little chilly in there, we did have a good time and again, got lots of people interested in bowfishing!

Its time to bowfish! March 2nd was the day Evan and I hit the river for the first time.....and while a little cold, we got this prize goldfish!

We also did the Cabelas Winter show for the first time. Another great way to promote bowfishing and find some new members including Lewis and Mike! I thought it was real cool seeing Carptreks airboat out front.

Time for the shoots to begin! While we had to postpone our first Fish Lake shoot due to sleet, we eventually got it in a week later and had a great time with some real nice fish being taken. Here is Bob of the winning Carptrek team with some new Indy record buffs.

We were back at Lasalle in May for the annual Lasalle Championship and kids event. We had big boats with platforms, shore shooters and ofcourse Adrian....who once again won the shoot single handed out of his 12 ft. john boat.....

Water conditions kept us out of the boats for the Lasalle kids event, but we still had alot of fun nailing footballs in the pond and stalking the shoreline.

Weener day at Bass Pro! Had a good time when BAI members came out to Bass Pro to cook brats and dogs with all proceeds going to the club!

Dont think Ill ever forget this years AMS Grass Lake shoot. Lots of water huh!!!! We had to wait till the day before to see if we could shoot with all the flooding rains, but we got it in and some of the biggest fish ever harvested there were taken. How bout that resort owner where we launched!!!!!

THE INNERLOC STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!
We had a great turn out, loads of prizes, and loads of fish taken......except on my boat :oops:
I think this shoot is one of the nations best and will only get better.
PLUS.....we got the club and bowfishing on national TV with Innerlocs Outthere TV show....Thanks Rick for being a great guide!!!

Had our first day time shoot on the Illinois, the AMS2. This time there were no floods but rain! Everyone got soaked as we hit the river in a steady rain. Jeff and Cindy made it down for this one,. Had a nice lunch at the lodge where we gave away the last shoot prize of the year, a AMS fish hawk bow.

With all the serious shoots done for the year, we couldnt just stop so we put on a few more! First was the 3 Rivers 2 shoot. Had some great weather and some good shooting. Carptrek took this big 10 shoot.

It was great to be invited to the Riverside Fishing Clubs meeting and talk bowfishing. Great bunch of people there......The Riverside club is one of Chicago`s largest multi species fishing cllub.

Still lots of great bowfishing and some fun events.
The big fish contest was coming down to the wire with only a few points seperating the leaders. I think the big fish contest is the clubs favorite contest and it was really active this year with loads of fish entered.
Not going to say who won it......but big congrats to Sharon for coming in second....without a boat!!!

Time for more bowfishing promotion and we did pretty good in september.
A little rain was in the forcast for the Women In The Outdoors Event near Wilmington. Actually it rained alot with the remains of some hurricane dumping on us all day, but hopefully some new bowfishing women In The Outdoors were made that day!

Another Shoot? Whu not! So we headed up to grass lake again for some late summer bowfishing . This time it was a big/small fish contest with BOTH coming off the new skiff, Evan taking big and your truely taking small. always a good time at grass lake!

National Hunting and Fishing Days!
The best event of the year keeps getting better. The BAI members really need to take alot of pride in what they do at this show. hard work, but really satisfying IMO. Sure makes me proud to be part of this club, thats for sure! AND.....this year Jerry sharon and Red represented the club well at the S. Illinois H&F Days celebration. I gt a feeling that show is going to get alot better too!

And while I dont have any pics, we had more great times down at Shelbyville and in Indiana at the HBC under the lights shoots.
Had alot more good times to close out the year......looking forward to a better 09.
