Hey Bob, have you ever fished for the sauger at Peabody. They are supposedly stocked in the big lake (Willow?). I may try getting a small boat with a 10hp motor to fish some of the state lakes with the 10hp limit. I like fishing for walleye and sauger, although I am not well versed in it. There is also a lake there that has Northern Pike in it. I bet that would be a surprise if you got one of those on your fly rod.

Sure haven't. I'm no walleye expert either. Last ones I caught were at Carlyle spillway. Not Willow though, the one in back, the big one. I believe there are wipers in there too. Eagle supposedly has the pike. I've caught a few pike up in NY on the fly pole before. They are fun to catch that way. I put in my canoe all over out there. I have a trolling motor for it. I bet Josh will chime in here, he knows those lakes well, and what's in em. How about it Josh???

The lake with sauger is Beaver it is by far the biggest lake out there. It also has hybrid bass. I dont usually do very great bass fishing out there. Best day was when i caught a 4.7 trolling and 5.2 with a black culprit worm. Caught those on the same day. Eagle has got the northern pike but never heard of anyone catching them. Eagle is one of the better bass lakes in peobody. My favorite lure for eagle would have to be a tiny terminator black buzzbait. I will fish that all day there, usually catch some. I got a few honeyholes in the hills of peobody, but it is a far hike up and down some pretty big hills. Usually pays off. Good luck fishing everybody.

Those lakes are close to my house and I fish Eagle and Beaver very often. I have caught sauger there at beaver on accident useing a crank bait. I would try trolling with your 10 horse maybe around 2 mph around 10 12ft never know what you may catch. Last year I did this there and snaged a 30lb flathead in the tail had the whole family with me . What a treat !

Went out to PRKFWA yesterday and tried for some crappie, got none. Managed a 1lb bass to keep me out of the skunk column.

I went to peabody today but really didnt get nothin. My wife was fishing with nightcrawlers and had 2 nice hits but missed. I was looking at the map and seen ponds in the hunting areas. Can you fish those ponds back there? Are the lakes when you first come in the gate and turn left good at all. Think its reed lake and another one?

I was there today too, in one of those back lakes you saw on the map. got 3, and some short strikes on a lizard. Better than skunked.

If your willing to walk, and bring your tick spray, enjoy exploring out there. PM next time your thinking of heading out, if you want company.

Fished Peabody today. Bite is starting to pick up at the smaller ponds but fish are also kinda small. I got 3 Bass and my wife got 1 bass and 1 catfish. All were about 1 1/2 pounds. Fishing frogs on the moss beds is pretty ridiculous in a good way. 11 different times bass boiled on the frog but would miss by inches and It would make me jump because you are waiting for the boil but dont know when, haha. Got all mine on the frog though. Overall the day was pretty exciteing and the ticks are not that bad. I went threw some prettty woody and grassy areas, lol. All for the fish though right?
