Thursday morning was cold and I really didnt want to sit long. With one in the freezer I wasnt going to be picky.
I was watching a Coyote out in the field with a limp. To my left a doe came into the field about 90yards. She through her nose up a couple times I think smelling me because it was blowing right at her. She saw the yote and was on alert.
She gave me a clear 90 yard shot and I took it. After the smoke cleared she was standing. Through the scope I could see my shot was a tad high and back. She took a few steps and laid down. Fifteen minutes later the yote came to her thinking he was going to get a free meal. At about ten feet apart she stood up and faced the yote. Finally the dog left and the doe went a couple more feet and laid down again. I though about head shooting her to put her down but I toticed some blood comming from her mouth. She stood up one more time and before I was steady for a head shot she went down a hill where I couldnt see her anymore. This all is in about a half hour. I waited another half hour and got down and slipped over the hill where I saw her last and she was laying there dead.
I went up the hill to see how much blood she leaked and there stood the coyote 40 yards away. I figured I still got a load in the ML I might as well unload on the yote. So one shot one yote kill. He was wanking with a limp because it had about 3 inches on an arrow in his hind end. It was the first coyote I ever shot.
Her measurment was 130mm, a good average 100 pounder or a little better.
TC Omega 50 cal
