I used to hunt down in S. IL in the Shawnee forest for turkey. We always saw a lot, but there were always lots of hunters. Never was able to get a shot at one. Two years ago I hunted a buddie's property in Madison county and got my first jake. Last year I got a tag for Randolph county, but wasn't able to go. I am going to try again next spring. My brother-in-law deer hunts an island down there and always sees turkeys.
