NEVERRRR EVERRRR used a heavy lure on a ultra-light micro pole...NEVER. I was fishin this evening down at Randolph Co Lake and was tryin out a new lure which I got in the discount bin. I don't remember what it was called it was like a brass spoon with a treble hook on the end.It was probable 1/2 or 1 oz. I ficked that s0B and it wrapped around me and dug two of the treble hooks into the back of my arm passed the tine almost up to where the hooks curve. My wife and kids where coming out there to meet me and when she got there she split the sleeve of my shirt and then I could see how deep it was in. Well I knew what I had to do.I didn't like it but it was either do it or stop fishin and go to the E.R.I got the needle nosez out and twisted till it curved around and popped on through pass the tinez. Then the needle nosez where to thick where the wire cutter part was I couldn't get around the hook just below the tines. Luckly I had a pair of wire snippers back at the truck. I did catch one crappie.:o

I had a guy do that to me in my boat. Buried 1 hook of a treble in my upper arm all the way to the bend. Only thing to do is push it through, cut it off, and back it out. Really doesn't hurt that bad in a chunk of meat.

I seen Bill dance take a piece of fishin line go around the hook and pull it straight out, some how that pulls the barb of the hook out.

could you please explain in more detail or provide a link ????? I would hate to have to get it out of one of my kids the way I had to take it out of me. I would have to take them to the E.R.

ihave used that method also. but when you get hooked in the hand or something the best way to get it out is take the pain and jerk that sob straight out.

FIGURE 3. String-yank method. (A) Wrap a string around the midpoint of the bend in the fishhook. (B) Depress the shank of the fishhook against the skin. (C) Firmly and quickly pull on the string while continuing to apply pressure to the shank. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20010601/2231_f4.gif
FIGURE 4. Needle cover method. (A) Advance an 18-gauge or larger-gauge needle along the fishhook until the needle opening covers the point. (B) The fishhook and needle are then removed at the same time.

these methods would not have worked at all for my situation. Because two of the three hooks on the treble where embedded almost 3/8 " deep. Even though I had to jam it around and back out it did little damage. Today it was a little sore but I think that was cause when I casted it whipped back and hooked in my shirt and I followed through with my cast setting the hook, in mid cast it was already tight enough to snap the 4 lb test line before I could get my thumb off the button. It was in so deep when I finally pushed it through that after I snipped the points off it popped out.

Had an ER tech at Scott AFB take a hook out of me that way too. His previous assignment had been in Florida where he was removing much larger hooks.

Had to have 2 hooks from a spinner removed from my ear that way 30+ years ago. OUCH!

Btw, where's the video? You're not gonna tell us this story without any outtakes for us, are ya?:D
