First of all, greetings. I saw your card at Old School Archery and decided to look up the site. I've been lurking for a while and decided to sign up.

My concern with this years rut is with the full moon being Nov 5. That when I expect chase to be in full swing. But previously this season and in past seasons the full moon puts a heck of a damper on my deer sitings.

What do you all think? Will the deer follow the moon and move all night and lay low during the day? Or do you think the bucks will still be running the does out of their beds? Hopefully the latter. I guess I'll just have to hunt all day or at least midday to see what happens. I'm taking vacation from Nov 4 through Nov 16. Can't wait.

Howdy, good to have you on board.

I wondered the same thing, but I think that the horny teenager symptoms will override the moon light issue. I'm off most of those days as well, maybe I'll see you out and about? I plan on hunting the river quite a bit over the next couple a weeks, as well as my in-laws farm up above Alton.

Keep us posted as to what your seeing...

See you around. Green Ford Ranger with WWW.SILOUTDOORS.COM (http://www.SILOUTDOORS.COM) on the tailgate.

I'm Leaving Pa. Saturday around 2 AM and will spend 2 wonderful weeks on stand. Hopefully the bucks will be hot on does and chasing them all day every day. Last year I was out from the 8th to the 18th and saw at least 10 different bucks from stand. Saw a few more driving around and just watching them. If they are as hot as last year I don't think the full moon will affect them that much.

They are starting to chase, watched a 2.5 y.o. 7 ptr chasing a doe this evening and found several fresh scrapes.
