View Full Version : Whisker Biscuit........ FunGusAmonGus 05-02-2007, 14:09 got one today on clearance for $25.oo. $25.oo for my bow at a thrift store + $25.oo for my whisker biscuit= $50.oo for a good second handed pse compound bow..... Bob 05-02-2007, 14:38 You'll like it... For a hunting rest they are hard to beat. Although everybody has an opinion. duckman1120 05-02-2007, 15:21 nice looks like you got anwsome deal. flatlander 05-02-2007, 15:22 I've used one for about the last 3 years. Nice not having to hold your arrow on the rest if you hold your bow all the time while in the tree stand. Wait until the first time you draw back to let one fly when the woods are dead silent. Or is this going to be a bowfishing rig ? Here is the rest that is going on my new Allegiance. http://www.qadinc.com/pc-16-5-ultra-rest-pro-series-ld.aspx FunGusAmonGus 05-02-2007, 15:27 Im havin a hard time finding cheap arrows all the arrows I have found are like $5-6 bucks . Every place I went said they won't have any cheaper arrows till this fall. I don't want to spend that much on arrows Im gonna probably lose cause Im a cheap bazterd.... I don't want to spend that much on arrows Im gonna probably lose cause Im a cheap bazterd.... Fun I'm gonna tell you now, and others will probably back me on this. Cheap arrows are expensive arrows. Buy a dozen good ones, and they'll last as long as 3 dozen cheapees. Unless you miss a lot:p duckman1120 05-02-2007, 15:58 do you want to shoot carbon or aluminum arrows. i would go with the carbon but still know alot of guys that shoot aluminum. gander moutian has carbon arrows for like 25 for 6 and they will cut and glue. i would check out either bass pro, gander, or cabelas FunGusAmonGus 05-02-2007, 16:57 ] i'm just looking for something to start with . I havealways wanted to shoot the bow more but didn't want to spend alot in case i got bored I didn't want a lot of bucks layin around. I guess I'm going to have to just makeup my mine and buy some. BOOYAH 05-02-2007, 19:51 I like the carbon arrows. And I don't think you'll be losing as many as you think. Get yourself a good target and Start off at the target about 10 foot away.... it sounds dumb but it helps. then once you are comfortable move another 10ft an so on. Arrows are cheap considering i've had the same 6 arrows in my quiver for the past 5 years. Scratch that i broke 1 of the six when i dropped my bow outta the tree stand last year lol. Bowtechman 05-03-2007, 08:59 if you dont shoot groups you wont break many. i try not to but just gota at times, thats when i break mine. go with carbons, either their broke or their streight. aluminum bend at times, and are heavy. you sound like me, i didnt want to put much in it at first, now i love it and am on bow #3. PSE are great bows, thats what i started with. hey i might have some old Easton Epic carbons if you want them cheap. josh 05-03-2007, 09:03 hey make sure you got the right one. some are made for only alum and some for carbon Bob 05-03-2007, 09:10 hey make sure you got the right one. some are made for only alum and some for carbon You can always just swap out the biscuit though... Brad 05-03-2007, 13:25 i use a wisker biscuit and it seems like they want to tear my fletching. im goona try a fall away rest this fall since i hang my bow on those realtree EZ hangers which are really nice flatlander 05-03-2007, 14:12 You can always just swap out the biscuit though... You can also use an aluminum one for carbon arrows, its ok if the hole is a little bigger then the arrow. FunGusAmonGus 05-03-2007, 21:14 if you dont shoot groups you wont break many. i try not to but just gota at times, thats when i break mine. go with carbons, either their broke or their streight. aluminum bend at times, and are heavy. you sound like me, i didnt want to put much in it at first, now i love it and am on bow #3. For arrows I've found that the you get what you pay for. I used to shoot aluminum but now I shoot carbon. They don't bend as much and they are faster and to me. They seem to penatrate better. I've been fletching my own arrows for 2 years now so if you ever need a few fletched I don't mind. You might want to check down at Town Hall Archery in Belleville. They have the PSE Dominators pretty cheap there. I used to shoot them and they are great for the price... |
