I am trying to plan my bow hunt at sahara woods and was wondering if there was any camping close by? Will be hunting with Ole Roy so I need electric otherwise he complains all day and night about the cold! Closest I know of is down by crab orchard lake!

Bigpappy another choice may be Glen O Jones lake http://dnr.state.il.us/LANDS/LANDMGT/parks/r5/saline.htm , not sure if it will be any closer than crab or not.

If your camping at Glen O. Jones and aren't liking what your seeing at Sahara you can bow hunt Saline Co Fish & Wildlife Area.
SCFWA also includes part of Glen O. Jones for bow hunting.

Look up Saline County Fish & Wildlife Area as well to see a map of the hunting area.

You dont need a special permit to hunt SCFWA just sign in & out each hunt at one of the sign in boxes in/near the parking area's.
