HINT:
These critters live in short grasslands and weedy areas. They need to see over the top of the grass when it stands on its hind legs. Golf courses, cemeteries, parks, roadsides , and airport land are ideal because they are occasionally mowed. They are not rare in IL, but I don't think I've ever seen one...

I though I had read someplace that if you even pester them you can get a ticket, is that true ?
My grandparents used to live in Olney and had a yard full of walnut trees and there were white squirrels all over. I think they are starting to disappear now.
I've been seeing a squirrel in town with a real light colored tail... I'll try to get a pic of him.

scott huschle 05-03-2007, 13:40 The white squirrels in olney are protected from any kind of human interaction, and there are alot still running around.I have occasionally seen a couple black squirrels from time to time.
I have a black squirrel mount in my office. My g'pa shot it way back when in Tioga County, PA.

hey guys, anyone know what this is.........???????
A stuffed animal.:D
I grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa and they have the biggest amount of black squirrels in the world besides a place over seas. But its kinda weird to hear you talk about hunting them cause they are illegal as heck to shoot in the state of Iowa.
