Whats the best turkey call out there for the price?

My favorite is the Primos Diaphram, with the Sonic Dome...I think you can pick up a 2 pack for 7 or 8 bucks.

The Freak by Primos its a slate type call

I prefer Woodhaven, but there are allot of ggod calls out there. The fun part is just grabbing one and seeing if you can make it work! ;)

I have The Freak as well good call. Of course in my vest as well are 4 or 5 diaphragms, a box, an aluminum slate, and a bunnch of strikers.

Let me also say, that if you are just getting started, just get you a decent box call. It's all you need. The others have their purpose and at times it's nice to have a variety as Bob carries in his vest, but I got 'er done last year with two yelps from the box call. Sat down and watched the show...then it had an abrupt but happy ending for me. ...maybe not so much for him though...:D

The first and third birds below were both shot while responding to a Woodhaven box call...no decoys used either time.

When you have the right vest it's easy:) A pocket or two for everything. seat built in. Never unload it, it is always ready to go.

Hello everyone all the manufactured calls are great but have you ever tried a home made turkey wing bone call I made two this year and they work good depending on the lenght is what changes the pitch It's not how they sound so much it the cadence,they do work for me it's a little hard to get the hang of but ounce you figure it out it sounds great.

I carry a Penn Woods waterproof box call, a Cody crystal friction call, a HS Lil Duece II slate friction call, a Knight and Hale aluminum friction call, 5-6 different strikers, and 4-5 mouth calls, on the mouth calls I like the Woodhaven Sadler Mcgraw and Red Wasp series, MAD Hot Hen and Knight and Hale triple beard calls, I also carry a crow call and owl hooter call! I have had days where turkey just would not respond to most of my calls, and then pull an old screechy call out of one of the many pockets, hit it and have the gobblers go nuts! so always have a good assortment of calls that sound different, one of my favorite friction calls is my Aluminum, it makes a very high pitch yelp and cuts, drives the birds crazy, but you have to experiment with different strikers, they all give it a slightly different sound, and make sure you carry a call conditioner and emery cloth to condition the calls.

MAN! I'm startin' to get fired up on turkey hunting and Deer season isn't even over yet!
