I WISH!. I saw a bunch of does and 2 bucks on my drive into work today at 0130 am. Clear and cold. Would have been a nice morning to be out.:( One more day of work, then I'm back out there. Weather is supposed to be crappy, but I'm goin anyway. It should be getting real fun, real soon.

Looks like the next few days are gonna be pretty wet. Break out the goretex and get after the big ones. Who else is gonna be wet over the next few days?

Same as BowTecMan for me today. I climbed down at 1100 saw one doe. Wonder if it'll get any better before this weather moves out? I gotta get a new book for on stand. I finished my Clive Cussler book today with the lack of action.

It's pouring. Wrong days to have off this week. Guess I'll go sneak around some corn, and do some still hunting a bit later. Almost 0700, and it's still pitch black out. I'll sit in a stand with a drizzle all day, but not when it's pouring. Anybody else gonna be getting wet today?

Well hung around the house and did chores until 1:30 then donned the military gore-tex suit that cost me 3 years. Glad i did too, I was crawling in 3 inches of water and mud, but came home dry underneath. Snuck around for 3 hours. Ran into 7-or so. Was able to creep within 40 yards of one doe, but she took another route in the corn. Saw 2 bucks a small 6 and an ok 8. I watched my barometer, and went out when the pressure was lowest. The deer were moving even thuough the weather sucked. One more day then back to the grind.

Next time hopefully one of them will bring her date along. LOL

Went out last night for about 3 hours. The wind here in Pa was howling. Around 40-50 mph. Almost got blown out of my stand so decided to quit around 40 minutes before dark. Let my bow down when a 1.5 year old 4 point walks right under my stand. Because of the wind I was able to pull it back up slowly with him 8 yards in front of me. Nocked another arrow in case Big Daddy was trailing behind but no dice. Watched the little guy for around 15 minutes and took some pics before he trotted off. Will post later...

No class tomorrow, may try it. 50% chance of rain, the wind is still blowing and last time I went to this stand the yellow jackets and wasps had moved in. I hope the cold front coming through gets them moving. The rest of the week looks better. Watched nine does and fawns Sunday night, nothing close.

(11/2/06) Had two 1 1/2yr old 8pts fighting sixty yards in front of me for awhile. They came all the way in. One was five yards under my climber. Put the horns together about seven, looked up and had a high 130s or 140 eight point out at about the same point in the field as the two little ones. I think he caught me moving but never got scared, just looped around in to the bottoms and slipped away. Hard frost and 27f this morning.

This morning was the best day this year as far as weather goes.
like you said 27, frost and no wind until about 8:30am it was great.
Watched a fork buck chasing a doe that had twins from this year with her.
She was having no part of it. LOL

Also had a parade of 12 does come by, 4 mature and the rest fawns. There was one button buck out of the group I could see.

On the way out headed for home I checked a cam and got a couple of bucks on a scrape that I had freshened up the other day.
I put a video cam on it now to, after I freshened it up again. LOL
here is the better of the 2

I guess my tactic was the wrong one today. I went out for a 9-1 hunt on the river. I saw a coyote. I thought that maybe the late morning early afternoon would be good. Wind was up all day for me. Maybe I should have went earlier? Tomorrow is another day. Still supposed to be cold and clear. I tried the horns twice, to no avail.

That is one fat buck Flatlander. Wouldn't think twice about that one.

Got about a mile up river today, and the (I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing) thing crapped out on me. Thank goodness I had a good battery and the troller to get me back down. Took about an hour. "The hole in the water you throw money into," is too true. Bro's coming into town tomorrow... Just when you need stuff to work, it craps out on you.

I think I need a new boat. Wonder how the wife will like that idea?

Well got to go up above Alton to the private land I'm able to hunt. Got in my stand at 0700. No more than 5 minutes in, I had a small forky come out. I watched him for awile then he moved off. Then a doe came out a few minutes later followed by a real nice 10. The doe left, and the forky came back out with the 10. Grunts didn't seem to have an effect. Then they started sparring lightly. I rattled lightly back. They left the field, and after about 15 minutes one of them snuck around down wind of me. (probably the 10:cool: ) After that I had a spike come out and of course that dude came right in and fed just 12 yards in front of me. I shot him with my camera. (I'll post that later.) Pretty good 2.5 hours on stand. Wonder how the weather over the next week will affect deer movement? Wish it was gonna be colder. I want to see that 10 again, he is worthy of the wall...

I put a video cam over a scrape and a still digital on a small rub so maybe I can get some good video &/or pictures and will check them when I head out tomorrow.

Well Flatlander was right saw a coyote and 15 or so does and fawns across the CRP field (500+yards), nothing came close. Got the shotgun sighted in, 7 days we can’t bowhunt but at least we can still be in the woods.
