these are some pics of my friend's Moose Hunt from '04, same guy I went Bear hunting with in '05 and '06, "Flintknapper", this is just a young Moose, but even a young Moose is HUGE! he shot this one in Ontario in the same area we Bear hunt, his first shot was at about 35 yards, perfect hit, the Moose ran out to about 70 yards and turned broadside, ARROW #2 was on it's way, hit him in the neck and that was all she wrote, they got it all on video. he's leaving next Wednesday for a 15 day Bear/Moose Hunt, wish I was going with him on this one, and he had an extra tag available, just didn't have the cash to spend on it or the time off, his 9 year old son already got a nice Bear 3 weeks ago. He got a Moose last year with his bow also and he has two big racked Moose hanging in his cabin in Wisconsin, both bow kills.
Moose meat is delicious too! That has got to be exciting, calling a HUGE BEAST like that into bow range, the one he got last year he shot at 7 yards :eek:

they have to use a truck winch to hoist these Moose up to field dress, then lower them into the bed of a pickup. Bull Moose weigh from 850 to 1200 lbs.

Man I bet your hating not getting to go this year! Hope he has a blast and shares some of the bounty with you.

Great story and pics Huntrz.. I don't think folks who have never seen a moose up close have any idea how enormous these guys get..
I swear they could stand flat footed and look in the windows of my cabover..
