Ive got a good friend who loves to turkey hunt, but doesnt try to learn how to call turkeys. He wont buy a turkey call because hes a cheap ass. Its a struggle to get him to go scoutin prior to the season because he sees no point in it. Every year he gets fourth season Randolph County and every year i make time to go with him and call and bring the decoys and more or less guide him around. And i will be (I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)ed if every year he doesnt kill a bird bigger than anything I have had a chance at all year.
1st year--24 pounds 11" beard 1 1/8 spurs
2nd year--misses two gobblers and then 25 pounds 11 3/4" beard 1" spurs
3rd year--16 pounds 12 1/4 " beard 1 1/2" spurs
4th year (this year) 22 1/2 pounds 10 1/2" beard and 1 1/4" spurs

Usually I would piss and moan and tell him he can hunt by himself, but being friends with him gets me permission to his 750 acres of Randolph Counties finest :D where i have also killed nice birds and last year we killed a 150' deer and a 160" deer. Of course his was the bigger one.:) Guess I'll just have to swalla my pride on this one.

Keep killing the smaller and keep getting invited back, sounds good to me.

That's the way it goes sometimes. I'd be happy to go along and guide. At least you can get out there...
