It's just that your slinging some heavy arrows. Smokey Mc Pot 04-29-2007, 21:27 Please tell me you are not using that for deer??? If you mean getting a new hunting bow, you can take off the reel real easy.:D you know it man i have to dress up as a female deer and let him get really close then BAM i shoot im about 7 times haha :D im just playin i have to shoot him 8 times no my dad got me one along time ago it was my first and only bow and only bow i havnt got rid of it yet so reduce reuse recycle haha :D Bowfisher 05-01-2007, 12:00 Most bowfishers will use something in the 40# to 50# for shooting fish in Illinois. Deep shots in clear water require heavier bows. Shooting heavier bows than the 40# to 50# range just drives the arrow up to the nocks in the mud or into stumps when you miss. Shooting a heavy bow all night or day at a couple hunred fish will also wear you out. I have rigged up some bows for 9and 10 year old shooters in the 25# range. Hard to penatrate gar but can stick some carp with a good sharp point at close range with a 25# bow. Bowfisher |
