Scott H. and I went out the last 2 mornings. Yesterday we set up on a field edge there was a creek then a road behind us, and then a gobbler lighting up early. He came down on the road, and never thought about crossing. A hen walked the road a bit later, and then flew about 5 yards behind me and landed in the decoys. She didn't stay long. The gobbler came back up the road, but still wasn't coming over.

Today, we heard a bird early a few hundred yards up hill of the day previous. We set up on the fence row, and that bird went nuts for about a half hour. We were easily only 50 yards from the roost. I called only 2 or 3 times to let him know we were there. Next thing you know he's gobbling from the bottom of the hill... we were on top. Flew straight away from us. Always something...

Switched spots, and got some more gobbles, but couldn't pinpoint em before they shut up.

So it goes...

I got some cool video of the hen yesterday, and a deer ran across our field this morning...

Better then sitting in the house sick like I have been the last 2-3 days.

Going to try again tomorrow, wait what are you doing home already cant you hunt until 1:00pm ?
