bdw just asked about the Drill and Grill...

Otherwise known as OLD Uncle Dave's Drill and Grill.

So here is the skinny in Dave's own words,

Uncle Dave's 4th Annual
Drill & Grill

Presents

GAR NIGHTS

Lake Shelbyville
Saturday September 6
at
Wolf Creek Boat Ramp
Fish Dinner Hosted by Dave & Joanne. Starting at 4:30P.M. or whenever Joanne gets all the fish cleaned. Followed by the 1st annual Gar Nights Fun Shoot stating at 7:30PM
We are moving the Fish Fry from the campground pravillion to the boat ramp so you won't have to take your boat out of the water or leave your valuables unattended at the ramp. The downfall of this is the lack of picnic tables so you will want to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to eat on or you could eat on your boat if you prefer.

GAR NIGHTS FUN SHOOT
7:30 PM TO 1 AM
Entry fee is $10 per person & $5 per boat for smallest gar pot. Biggest gar turned in wins all. Kids 17 & under shoot free with a paying adult.
Trophies provided by Dave & Joanne will be given to the Biggest & the Smallest gar (by length). Ties will be determined by weight, if it is still tied, pot will be divided by the winners. You will be responsible for your own fish disposal, so only shoot 1 big and 1 small gar. Participants may have as many shooters on their boats as is LEGALLY allowed whether it be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 or more. Remember this is a "fun shoot". No whiners please
MORE SHOOTERS=MORE FUN
The IB8C (Illinois Bowfishers 2008 Challenge) ends at 6:30PM Saturday, September 6 & checks will be handed out to the winners of each division.

Now you don't have to enter to come by and have fun, eat fish (and other goodies) and even do some bowfishing. :D

It's almost here! The weather kinda dumped on us, but it's supposed to clear up for Saturday. Hope to see some of you there.
Will be shooting the breeze and burning er, uh I mean cooking some dinner around 4:30 at Wolf Creek ramp. (May be my last time there...:()
And then heading out to do some damage to the rough fish population. :D

Remember, you don't have to enter the contest.

Well I'm almost recovered...Had a great time, missed a bunch of fish, met a bunch of new friends, ate some great food and just generally enjoyed myself.

A big thank you to Joanne for all she does for us.

I thought we got a picture of bdw, but I don't see him and his partner in this photo where everyone is checking to see who brought in the biggest fish.

Thanks to Dave and Joanne for putting this event on. And to all who helped make it the special gathering of friends. I can't wait 'til the next one.
