The morning was cool and the skies were clear.
The spawn is on!
We started out our morning chunking spinnerbaits, chuggers, buzzers, and spooks.
We found several fish being active on these presentations, but they lacked quality. The bass were chasing
shad on a wind blown point. We continued to pick up more fish going down into a main lake spawning
pocket, and decided to abandon this area, because the bigger fish just wasn't there.

We ran to a nearby creek and broke out our flipping sticks.
Here is where the magic started to happen.
We fished shallow cover for the rest of the day in a couple different areas. Flipping brushhogs, and tubes
in junebug color. Catching 8 over, 16 inches in length and losing 4 more at the boat. Thats fishing!
We had a great day of fishing for the blue bird conditions.
In general, I would say, we boated over 20 BASS!

The bass are making a big push to the bank to spawn, follow the techniques above and you should
do well. Stay in shallower water and fish plastics and topwaters. Fish any available cover you see.
I personally like fishing weedbeds.


Stay in productive depths of 0 - 4 ft., cover the shallow areas thoroughly and you should have a productive
and rewarding trip.
