I don't know about you all, but the action eems to have picked up the last couple a days. Last week was pretty slow for me. I saw 3 small bucks yeterday still hunting, and had 2 does about run me over today (I was on the ground). No chance for a shot yet though. Maybe tomorrow the boat will have to go out?

They came right by my stand, she was a running fool. LOL

And him just a horny teenager, all want and no get.
Yesterday there were turkeys in my treestand tree. I spooked em out, but they came back through later, 1 nice gobbler and 2 jakes. No shot on them though. Then about 9 I had a weird buck come to feed on persimmons. 4 on one side and a big spike on the other. 10 min. later a coyote follows his trail. Interesting day.
Well the gates about to open... Gotta go try again.:D

I killed a doe last night, all going to be summer sausage. YUM YUM
First deer I have killed with my new slick trick B-heads.
That thing made a hole that looked like someone rammed a pool stick into her, the thick end of the stick.
Way to go man. Your the 1st member to bag one I think. Another rave about slick tricks, I may have to try me some... Any pics?

I recovered her this morning and new the temp was going to be around 60 so I was in a hurry to get her to the processor before the temps went up.
MAN yeterday was slow, I saw nothin. I thought the front wuld move em, but not yesterday. Now 4 days of night shift, then back at em.
I went out late yesterday evening, dawned the leafy suit, and ground hunted. I had 3 mature does and a couple of their fawns come in but, of course, from the direction opposite I was playing the wind. When the lead doe hit my scent that was all she wrote. I saw turkeys too (but no shot) so it was a great evening.
Tidbits:
Prime time is quickly approaching. I read an article by Bill Winke in American Hunter last night...he said the best time to bag a mature buck north of the 35th parallel is Nov 5-8...as the first few does are coming into estrous.
The big boys are on the move too. My wife's friend was on her way to work near Marissa last week and almost hit what she claimed was a monster buck. My neighbor works with IDOT in E. St. Louis and they picked up a huge 10 pointer (he said it was the biggest buck he'd ever seen) that had been struck on I-255 near I-64.
Good Luck to all!

I went out wendsday evening and saw a real nice 8 point no shot though. I bet he had around a 18 to 20 inch spread. Wish i couldve shot him.
