Lake of Egypt is heated if the power plant is running. We noticed it was shut off the other day. Temp without it is 59-60 and if the power plant is on it is around 65 up by the plant......I went 2 nights ago and caught 8 bass with a 4lber being the biggest but it was windy and didn't have time to take any pics...They did slow down alot though. The Plant could be back on now. I just looked out and seen the lights on but couldn't tell if there was smoke or not. Hope this helps ....

how does the wind have much of an effect on the water as in making it really choppy?

LOE isn't wide open. There is several places to get out of the wind...

Still don't see any smoke, so I don't think it is running yet. Plus, it is storming here.Might be a bad weekend to go fishing......

I just got back from Giant City . We stayed in one of their small cabins. I found a place selling some small sheds in Anna that would probably work great for what you want. Its a flee market- thrift store on 146 going out toward the high school.

yeah I had the chicken . It was good but I thought the mashed tatoz where instant and the corn and green beans where from a can.The dumplin where excellent. And the chicken was as good as fried chicken gets. We went to one of the shelters and built a fire in the fireplace. It was nice.

The mashed potatoes aren't that good. I always add salt ,pepper, and some butter to them. We also noticed the green beans as well. We also didnt care much for the rolls but the fried chicken and the rest of the stuff was really good! Mike the owner is really nice......Sometimes he used to ring people up, but now they bring the check to the table. I think it is nice to take a family there. That is somewhere I remember going when I was a child. The cabins are nice. The Bluff cabins are the best and they have new lodgey decor, bedding, and a fireplace in them. They are the most expensive though........The visitors center down there is nice. They have alot of info. I think I have some pics somewhere of it. And they have a campground down there that I don't think alot of people know about. It is kinda secluded but it did have a small playground, and a nice showerhouse. You can't see the water from the campground though so we usually pick somewhere else to stay.
I wanted to see some pics around the area of the same thing I took pics of. I thought that would be neat to see everyone's different point of view. Did you get any pics????

I got a few pic's but the computer I'm posting from is so old it has a hard time down loading them( it takes forever and sometimes it loads with errors).I caught some little bass in the ponds in the park I think they where still biting cause the water is so shallow in them.Oh and the "rolls" must have been found at the "stone fort" cause they where as hard as something from the stone age....

YES!!!!! I think it is there biscuits left over from breakfast or something because I couldn't even get mine open!!! This has been on more than one occasion.
On the pics say you got a 6.0 mp camera, sometimes you can lower it to 2.0 and then download on a slower computer alot faster. I do that if I use my old HP. Otherwise I had the same problem and it would take forever if I left it on 6.0! However if it is pics you wanna keep you are gonna want the quality so it just depends what you are shooting.
