hello this is my first post. i been visting for a while and now i joined. i got a qusetion about mushrooms. i am from northern il. but i go to school down here and it seems like there arnt to many elms. me and my room mate went out to crab and just could not find any. im not asking for your spots but just some help in direction on to go. we were thinking about going out to kankaid today and look around. thanks and good luck

Here's what I can tell you... lately Silver Maples have been my honey trees. Look near edges, where the sun penetrates a bit more. Power line edges, creek edges, lake banks... stuff like that. You should be finding them down there...
