I headed out on opening morning and thought for shure me and my cousin were gonna double up on 2 toms but to our amazement they walked right by our set up of a strutting jake and 4 hens. i have no idea what they thought they werent spooked just walked on by. earlier that morning a hen walked right through them and later that day had 3 strut right by by a diff spot at about 80 yds. it was an exciting day even though we didnt get any
Atleast ya got to see some, thats half the battleright there and is always fun to just sit and watch them.
Betterluck next time.
Are you done??? Keep after em... there were only 2 boats at the marina this morning... that's a lot of land per hunter... I know Saturday won't be like that LOL... I'll be out there with em, but I got a SECRET SPOT... HA!!!
yea i got landowners so ill be out every day i can all seasons until i get one which i hope is soon with all the birds we see on our land
You need to be an owner or blood relative to get one of those landowner tags don't you? I thought about getting one for my father-in-laws farm...?

I see i'm not the only one getting skunked. I hunted Horseshoe Lake Monday and Tuesday. Seen 1 tom with 7 hens and I coulnd not call him in at all. They are closed mouth and its hard to locate them. The cool weather and now rain is not ideal for turkey hunting. Yesterday I saw 14 in two different field up at Horseshoe Lake. 1 tom and 13 hens. I did stop and took a pic of one big tom hit by a car on the side of the road. I'll post the pic later.
