my sister in law just figured that out...she said would you look at my cam? my pics are allways blurry now and it was just a dirty lens.....lol.
Fungus it looks like it was time, how did it get that dirty, did the dog lick it?
gretchensteele 06-10-2008, 07:30 That's partly why I have hoods on my lenses...keeps off alot of that kind of stuff..course the first thing Bam always does is point out a little spot on a lens when she sees me LOL I think the way I drag mine around and the hard life they have scares most people. All I can say is Canons are tough! LOL
It's amazing the folkz that don't even know they have to clean their lens....my cousin's was the same way....dirty as could be from her daugther and she couldn't figure out why these shots are blurry now.......
Gretchen I used to not be so gentle, but big daddy is on me now about being a little more careful on with my equipment as the price goes up...
gretchensteele 06-10-2008, 09:58 Yep..Critter insisted that I at least armor coat the 5D...and he'd like it lots better if I'd get off my fanny and armor coat the other two as well LOL
And don't forget folks..the heat can be just as hard on your equipment as the cold..it will really drain batteries and fry chips if you leave your cameras sitting in a hot vehicle ...
at least with digital I don't ahve to carry a cooler for film LOL

IDK I didn't notice it till I got home and down loaded which SUCKS!!!!!!!:) Maybe taking it out of the A/C on the last one made it fog up...

Yep that will do it! Got to love the humidity of SILO :D
ugh.yea...didn't that happen at the butterfly house to the camera club HD?
I had that happen on a cardinal shot in the ice when I just came out of the house....:(
FunGusAmonGus 06-10-2008, 11:31 I used to be able to get some stuff for my eye glasses that would keep them from doing that . Do they make stuff like that for cam lenes?
Yep the butterfly house was tough. I doubt I will ever go again in the winter, by the time the lens got used to the heat and humidity I was hot and wet too just like my lens. It took 30 min. or so for them to acclimate and defog.

oh I think I know what your talking about ....I seen that stuff at the mall....
Fungus it may work but I am not putting it on my lens.
gretchensteele 06-10-2008, 13:57 I wouldn't put it on my lens either..a trick for the butterfly house or the climatron is to double bag your lenses in a warm area...it still takes them a few minutes, and you do still get a little fogging but it generally is cleared up in about 5 minutes or so...
I tried single bagging it..but that just wasn't enough insulation..two seems to work okay...and for heavens sake don't take the lens off while it's adjusting..you'll end up with condensation on your mirror and sensor...and moisture on all those important parts...
You can even double bag and use a little soft sided cooler..
(can you tell I 've spent a lot of time in the Climatron???? LOL)
Yea I think they talked about doing all that at the meeting before hand...
