Have a question, I already have a fish finder on my boat located at the captains stand. My question is, I want to put a second one around the front of the boat, near the trolling motor, do I need a second full system (finder and transducer) or is there some way to "T" the liner from the original one to go to a second finder located at a different spot. When looking for the white bass on Carlyle it would be a little more convenient not having to go to the captain stand to look at the depth/screen. I saw cabelas had a T-line but it was confusing on how it really worked.... thanks

Get a new unit for the front. Using the T-line would be just for getting power to the new unit. It would be better to just run the new unit by it self. You want the new transducer to be on the trolling motor and not use the transducer puck from the unit at the captain helm, which is probably at the back of the boat. That way the front unit get its own reading from the front of the boat....Hope I didn't confuse you....

A few things to keep in mind are that if you do mount a transducer to the trolling motor you have to remember to turn the unit off everytime you pull the trolling motor out of the water. Also the transducer cables are encased in an aluminum foil type material to keep static interference out of the transmission and if you actually cut the cable to splice it you are opening the transmission up to interference from simple things like a GPS, cell phone, radio waves, static interferece from the uce of your trolling motor and vibration out of the boat itself especially if another boat passes somewhere nearby. I have never used one of those T kits you are talking about but i would think with all the technology out there today that it can be done to run two screens off of one transducer.

Thanks folks for the info. I never went away G, routinely visit the site, just not as often as duck/deer season. Usually just taking in all the knowledge from the posts and not responding too much. Fishing has been pretty spotty, so I don't have anything to brag about :(, Hope to get back into the swing of things when the white bass start making their appearance on the big lake....:D
