I was in Carbondale when the first tornado warnings were issued. I wanted to get on the east side of the lake and into Williamson County before it got too bad. Once I made it over County Line Road, I felt comfortably in front of the storm. So I started going north and south along Reed Station, Cambria, and Greenbriar Roads, while working east, continuing to stay ahead of it. I got this shot at the Tri-C School parking lot.

This was spooky to me. It looks like a downdraft on the right with possible wall cloud on the left, behind the closest light pole.

The EXIF data says 7:43, but I don't think I've updated the time settings since the time change. Let's put it at 6:43.

This was from the Wolf Creek Causeway at 7:03. If the radio had not been talking about tornado warnings, I would not have considered this particularly ominous. It doesn't look threatening, but I'm not looking inside it, either.

Roll cloud?

Wolf Creek Causeway Road, just north of General Dynamics, at 7:08. Simple scudders? The roll cloud broken?

Was it bad down there, Bam? The weather folks kept saying that their radar was showing the worst heading that way.

Water tower would have been a good vantage point, crazy but good. ;)

Naw .......we ate and let the kids go up on the water tower and it was fine....
I wanted to show my chy town fam around the park ...We drove around and then went to a playground and DNR came through and let us know that a storm was coming..it was actually still part sunny at that time......We took off instead of going on a trail and came home 148 and it was fine....a little windy and a flash every once in a while in the distance but we came home and entertainned outside for a while before it even rainned...prolly 10-11 or so I think it was.....

BTW I been up there right before a storm Cal....not a good idea.....ROFL!
