I know waterfoul hunters feel strongly about their sport. Also I know Deer hunters feel pretty about the same about what they do. Same goes formost other hunters. If you disturb them while they are engaged in what they do many take offence to it. Heres my point I love to mushroom hunt I don't get to do much of anything else and to me I am like most hunters I feel strongly about my right as a tax paying resident to enjoy public lands. Heres the problem most stste parks ban mushroom hunting before 1:oo PM during turkey season, yet turkey hunter are free to take any mushrooms they come across which gives them a unfair advantage in my eyes. I know many peole say its a safety issue, but it should be no more of a issue than the safety of other turkey hunters. And what about the people who just like to walk out in nature? Are they ban from the public grounds also? Maybe I should just buy a turkey permit and carry a knife and if asked just say I'm turkey hunting with a knife. I just feel there are to many loop holes in these rules which are in my eyes unfair to many residents. Many of who can only hunt in the morning.

I feel your pain Fun. Technically I think if a turkey hunter walked out of the woods w/ a bag of shrooms he could get ticketed. No shrooming, means that across the board. You can usually tell by cars or trucks in the area whether there are any hunters in the area, or maybe hunts spots that aren't real conducive to turkey hunting.

Safety is the real concern here, I know I like to camo up when shrooming, and I don't want to slowly creep through the woods towards a guy w/ an itchy trigger finger.

i agree w/ bob here, safety is the main concern but it is deffinently unfair to non-turk hunter who are only able to shroom in the morning due to work or other affairs. if the rule is after 1, then that rule should be applied all across the board

i also agree anyone coming out of the woods with shrooms before 1 should be ticketed on public grounds
