Hey, we're having a fun-shoot on Clinton Lake May 17th. That's three weeks from today. Everyone's invited, no matter what club, or state, you're in. Come on out and enjoy some good shooting, make some new friends and find out for yourself what the Illinois Bowfishers, and our shoots, are like.
Most of our members are avid outdoorsmen and women, so there's always alot of different topics being discussed before and after the shoot.
Come on out and introduce yourselves. We'll have a great time!

Hopefully the fish will get the invite this time.
We'll be meeting at the Weldon access (Dave has the shelter reserved) and start fishing about 10am.

The golden carp will be awarded to the top boat Captain.
A couple of notes, we'll probably meet back at the shelter for lunch. We'll have to figure out what time before everyone heads out.
And most importantly...We have yet to secure fish disposal. If I cannot get something set-up, Please be prepared to take your fish with you. I'll keep you posted on this.
I'm gonna be after that carp, Kendall.
2 weeks to go! I know this is the Southern Outdoors site, but Clinton isn't THAT far north. It's not like it's in another state or anything.
Come on out and have some fun with the nicest people you could meet. Maybe I'll get a decent outboard and can bring my boat. You can make fun of it as I'm sure some will. (have you ever seen oak on a jon-boat?).
Just 4 days to go!
Big-fish on this lake will be decided in ounces. And they're harder to hit, so you better be on.
2 more days!
This is a day-shoot, and Clinton is a good lake for walkin the banks. Plus, there's some good areas in the no-wake-zones, so small boats and canoes will be able to fish without fear of getting swamped.
Come on out and join us. We'll be at the Weldon access before 10:00 a.m.

Well the weather was great. A little breezy but otherwise bee-ooh-ti-full. :D
We even had a new State record Buffalo fish taken.
I was just happy to have shot more than three fish w/o breaking anything.
There were 2 record buffs take, weren't there? Johnny B shot one to beat the current record, and then 2 hours later his partner shot his one and only fish which beat Johnny B's. What a great day for them 2.
I started out on shore, shot fish, then climbed aboard Kendall and Christine's boat and shot some more fish, and then jumped on Chris' boat and shot 6 or 7 more. I had a great day! And I ended up on deer predator's boat but I didn't hit anything there. They were just too deep where were fishing. But it was a great night all the way around. Got to meet Troy, (very nice to meet you out there btw), Scott, and Deb for the first time. And I ate too much. But it all added up to a great day and night on Clinton Lake.
I can't wait to get my boat out there.
