Well My wife & 2 friends have found over 450 mushrooms the last 2 days around the St Louis area

269 here, with a nice bonus 5 point shed. It was eaten a little on every tine tip, but still pretty good.

Lynn - Great Finds!!! Wonder if they'll still be going by say Tuesday of next week? My niee live overin Jeff County on oneof the bluffs..I know her woods is holding them, but she can never find them! I can't get over there until Tuesday ...oh dear..will it be too late???

lynn, I live in chester, but was traveling thru that area last night, ended up staying in farmer city. so 30 miles in which direction?
I have one more appt tonight in mattoon and was hoping to make it over to forbes to look around.

I was over at forbes this past weekend. LOTS of ticks.

The best we could find were some longstems. I think I will go again tomorrow afternoon and saturday after turkey hunting.

Picked up some Repel Sportmans Max(40 percent deet) and some GoReady maxideet(98 percent deet) from wally world today. So if you see a guy wearing a silo hat in a lil mitsubishi holler out.

I did notice the bags, was telling my wife we should get those, then she went tuesday night sent me a pic and every shroom had the dirt root on it!:eek:

Use a netted bag in the woods, ALWAYS !

When you get back to your truck or the house, you can put them in a sack, tub, bag, ect.... ;)

We found 13 grey & yellow up here behind our house last night.

Never heard of using a netted bag untill over at the collinsville deer expo.......

But I'm still using the good ole' bread bag or ww bag. Until I find one.

Roning..you can pick on eup at dollar general probably...it's the same kind used to put delicates in in the asher..or save a potato, onion, or orange sack ..

Gretchen told us to use a mesh bag last year when we were hunting oysters. I think I got ours in the camping section. It was either a dunk bag or laundry bag I think. We've had the bag for a few years but just started using it for shrooms last year.

Yeah G, but I enjoy not being PC.....LOL

When I get to the next dollar gen., or if I see one at ww I'll make sure to pick one up just to support the cause though........:D
