I finally found a small little mushroom guide that I liked today at craborchard..G would be proud....lol..I would suggest anyone hunting shrooms to get one.....They are really informative and mine was only 10 bucks..:D Funny thing was though when I turned around to pay for it.....I was recognized again....He said hey I know you all from silo......ROFL.....

I keep forgetting than tons of folkz visit silo now.......Seems like it was just a few of us posting not too long ago...;)

It's kind big and bulky for field guide but a really worth the price mushroom book is Michael Kuo's 100 Edible Mushrooms...
Very thorough, very easy to navigate, and not written with a scientific slant..so you don't have to feel like you have to be a mycologist to get through it..Kuo has a very down to earth writing style, good photos etc.
He's a really nice and helpful fellow...more than once I've had to e mail him to get/double check the correct scientific name for a stock shot and he's a treat to deal with.

Just an aside..I've always had really good luck picking up used field guides from the college bookstore on the cheap..and sometimes there's the added bonus of finding a students field notes scribbled throughout them..including locations! LOL

Yea Im gonna start with a pencil and post it notes because I don't know all the scientific names......:D

This one is little and hopefully I don't forget it in my backpack when I pack into the woods.......I got two new bags since lastyear but it seems like the backpack still works pretty good incase I have to carry a kid as well........ROFL!
