what did he shoot it with? Distance?

He shot it with a 22-250 at about 80 yds. Called it across a picked corn field......Probably saw it coming for 400 yds. He has a rabbit fur decoy with fishing line tied to it........Works great when they hang up too far away.

nice.... I am new to illinois, what is the deal with yotes and 22lr only in state operated parks? Where do you hunt with real rifles for yotes here????

If your on private land you can use whatever you want.......But public land is 22lr I believe.

guess I need to find some private land for dogs.... Thanks, and tell your son great job.

Awesome! After hunting yotes for a couple years I believe they can be one of the hardest animals in illinois to call in and shoot. Quite an accomplishment.
