For the wild edibles we commonly find around here..also some of the medicinal ones...

Do I have to add the caution statement???

*** Always be sure you have first properly identified any wild edible including mushrooms.
Always try a new wild edible in very small amounts the first time ( 1/4 cup or preferably less...)Tiny amounts really. a bite or two..a sip or two of tea...
Always check with an experienced wild crafter if possible
When in doubt - don't!
Just because everyone around you is able to eat something with no ill effects does not mean you will be able to, also when I say try in small amounts first..I mean very small amounts...not a whole shroom...not a big spoonfull of greens...

This is very interesting. I had no idea so many things were edible that I walk past on my hikes. Warnings noted, I certainly would be careful, but very cool to learn this.

Thanks Gretchen. I knew about some of these, but there are many others I'm not familiar with. Un Hui has cooked some of these including plantain and lamb's quarters. We used to eat paw paws when I was a kid (kind of like banana except softer and a little pungent taste).
