A friend of mine from up in Chicago has been working on a new exhibit at the Garfield Conservatory, called "Sugar from the Sun", an exhibit explaining how plants take energy from the sun and turn it into sugar, my friend does water features and steel sculptures and it just so happens he used stone he purchased from me to build the waterfall, tonight was the unveiling of the exhibit so I went down to see what it was all about and took some cool photos of the waterfall and some cactus pics from the conservatory. If you ever come up to Chi-Town, (and I know some of you are thinking, "NO WAY!" but if you do...) , check out the Garfield Conservatory and this exhibit.

a few pics from tonight...

this is the only link I could find to the project;

I know they documented the whole building process of the exhibit from start to finish with some time lapse photography for a possible future PBS documentary. The actual building part of exhibit started in September and they just finished it up.

here's his website

definitely one of the cool parts of the job, seeing the stone used in a project like this that will seen by thousands of people and be around longer than I will, supposedly it will be there for 100 years!
