Bird was kind enough to call back to the club house to tell me about a large field full of snows..handy to the road..good shooting ...
So being me... we stopped on the way so I could shoot them..bearing in mind Deno gave me a message to give anyone who might wonder why I was wandering out in that field...(Deno said I could by golly!)
Bear in mind - this was right on the shoulder of Route 3...
I bailed out keeping and eye on the geese and getting ready to shoot just in case I spooked them up into flight when I think I hear somebody say..hey lady...
Okay..I ignored it... thought maybe critter was trying to tell me something from the car...
Then it was a less than pleasant and substantially lounder Hey lady...
I nearly stepped on the guy in the picture below...
He was not impressed by Deno's message.... he was rather crabby
I told that I was still on the highway right away..so I wasn't tresspassing..and frankly I wasn't sure using the road ditch for a goose pit was the best idea...
Not a pleasant exchange...and since he had the firearm and the bad attitude I chose the path of least resistance and split.
The irony is still making me laugh....all these years in the forests and the fields, never have I intruded on a hunters spot... but bail out on the shoulder of the road on Route three and I step on one....
If you are the fella in the picture...I'm sorry - I really did not intend to screw up your hunting....and I know all too well how the snows will wreck a wheat field...SORRY!!! But you have to admit it's not often someone is hunting from a road ditch.
