Folks I need to know who is gonna be here and who is hunting so I can have enough people to guide if needed.

Requirements are as follows:
Orange hat, vest preferred but the hat is a must, we have them for sale at $6 or $15 (embroidered) with Muddy River Shooting Preserve on them.
IL hunting license, if you are an out of stater we have out of state preserve licenses.
Shotgun, lighter loads preferred #6 and # 7 1/2 are ideal, 3" mags are not needed.

Deno is handling the cooking, fee is by donation. If you want to bring something to share that is fine but it will get eaten.

Prices:
$6 quail, $10 chukars, $15 pheasants, Guide feess are $10/hour + tip to the guide.



In the event we need to cancel due to possible sleet/freezing rain/ice we are expected to get Thursday and Friday it will be posted online by 9 pm Friday night. If you need to call, my number is 618-525-7425, clubhouse is 618-833-9262.

We are loacted in Union County, IL where the Big Muddy and Mississippi rivers join. If coming from the south (Cape Girardeau, Ware, Wolf Lake) go north on IL Route 3 to Muddy Levee Road and turn west, go 2 miles and we are on the left. If coming from the north (Chester, Murphysboro, Grand Tower) go south on Route 3 approx. 5 miles south of Grand Tower, IL (cross the bridge over the Big Muddy River) and turn west onto Big Muddy Levee Road, we are 2 miles on the left.

Bird, I would like to make one of your hunts, problem I have a couple of guys coming down from Chicago to chase the snows around, looks like I have to worry about the weather too, winter storm watch is in effect starting Thursday morning......:mad:

Well, the Storm Prediction Center has us under a Winter Storm Watch w/ ice storm wwarning for the Bootheel and a WS Warning for Northern Arkansas. I'll try and get a feed here in a min.

Like I said if we cancel it will be on here by 9 pm.

90% wintry mix tomorrow
80% freezing rain tomorrow nite
40% wintry mix Friday
20% slight chance snow Fri nite
Partly sunny & 43 degrees Saturday

I think that is a good plan Bird if it turns out the way it's lookin' like it might. Better safe than sorry and we can always do it when it's warmer. I just hope ya'all's power stays on. I think the whole area had enough of that stuff.

Bam it is more an issue of a person is likely to fall if they make quick movements, which is most likely to happen when a bird gets up and flys.. which is also the same time a person will be clicking their safety off and getting their finger close to a trigger.

Plus a dog can get easily injured on ice when they try to manuever.

I sure hope that its not in the teens on sat and snows and or rains friday night. I wouldn't want to drive the 120 miles there in bad or cold weather since my heat in the car isn't working all to well.

Well looks like granny bert just had anotehr stroke..Im on the way into the hospital now they called 911 to get her there faster..not sure if we will make it to the hunt now....idk..

Well count me in as long as the weather allows. Even though I wount be able to bake this week, if we get weathered out I'll be able to bring a bunch of rolls for the next time we try for it. Sure looking forward to hooking up with you all and shooting some holes in the sky!

We are still in if it happens I guess.lol....I just got back from the night shift up at marion hospital....:mad:..Didn't feel right leaving her, we didn't get up in our room until 3am...:(.Too bad they had to take her there instead of herrin.....Herrin hospital is sooo great IMO!!!
Roads are bad....took 1 hour to get home.........Granny isn't so well but is talking a little ....left side is gone and memory too for now....well see what today brings.......IDK if ill get back to town or not....there where trucks flipped over and such on the way home.......Thank god they cancelled school......you all be careful out there..
