Does anybody know of a good trainer in the area?? I have a new beagle puppy that I would like to train. i hear rabbits are their calling....

Not sure of any trainers around the area. My grandfather had 5 beagles he used to hunt rabbits with during the season. The way he trained the puppies to hunt rabbits was he used to drag a rabbits foot(or leg) around on a string so they could get the hang of following the scent. I guess naturally after they figure that out, they start barking when they're on the trail. They would bark the whole time and when they got real close to the rabbit, the bark would get dramatically different, almost like a howl. You could tell the dogs were excited. They would circle the rabbits around to you so you could get a shot. He used a whistle to call the dogs back in. He also gave my older brother a whistle (when we were kids) to blow if we got lost in the woods(only once we got lost). I hope this helps - otherwise it's just a story for you. peace

There is a beagle guy out on Eddyville Road -- raises them . Has a pretty big operation it looks like.

Have a beagle - tick hound that we found at Garden of the Gods-- followed us all day. She was lost or left. She is a rabbit dog, hard to get back though.

i have two beagles, but the fiance spoiles them, were about to have pups. where is that guy located at?
