I use the Stealth Cam MC2-GV.

It takes ok pictures and I have them directly converted from film to CD at Wally World. The only problem is that I am limited to 24 pictures per roll. There is reoccuring cost of Film, and Processing ~ $7.00/24 pictures. If I get a turkey in front of the camera I can easily waste a roll on the turkeys. If I adjust the camera to increase time between photos I can miss a big on that might be following a doe. I have to get a setup that can get photos as clear as film with photo capability between 500 - 1000 pics (1-2 gig sd card.) I will most likely build it myself to meet my specifications.

Those sites I sent you will tell you how get that done.

Your right about the $$.
The digitals may cost a little more up front but in the long run it's cheaper.

Home brews have come a long way any more they are just a kit (some of them) to put together about like a model car.
A lot easier then just a year or 2 ago.

I am finding Digital Cameras with the LCD broken very cheap on Ebay. Not like I need the LCD on it. The LCD will be disabled for a trail cam to reduce any unnecessary battery usage.

More photos to come.

True but it makes it hard to put the camera on the best settings for use as a trail camera with no LCD.

But you may also be able to find someone on one of those sites that has a LCD for the camera you buy.

Several people have parts camera's, I have a couple myself.

Figured that I would could use my laptop or another good camera to pull the photos off of the camera(memory card). You have to remember, I currently have a film trail cam. Currently if the camera is setup wrong I dont know until the film is processed. A camera with a working LCD runs about 90 bucks, one with a broken LCD cost about 25 bucks.

By checking the camera setting's I mean (depending on which camera) having it on the best focus, EV, white balance, ISO, P. Quality, etc while being used as a trail camera.
Viewing the pictures is no big deal like you said just do it on a computer.

I like to have a Case with extra memory sticks and AA's.
I dont bother even looking at the pictures when checking cams just switch out the memory and AA's (if needed) and move on to the next trail camera.

I wait until I get home to look at the pictures on the full screen of the monitor.

I'm assuming by the price you are talking about a P32 ?

?

Just tested a thought. My current digital camera can be adjusted without the LCD. Just plug the camera into the TV through the video jack and the LCD screen is displayed on the TV. I will be able to adjust the camera settings using an external screen.

Guess your good to go then.

You might want to read up on the S650 it was one that was found to not be a very good trail camera.
I dont recall the reason dont know if it was battery consumption, slow trigger speed or weak flash but it was found to not be a good choice for a trail cam.

The S600 (6 mp) is a good one but tougher to modify then the P series.
Another thing about the S600 (S650 may be the same) it uses a MS Pro Dou rather then a regular MS Pro.
