Been really busy this week, so I'm way late getting this out here! Last sunday my son Logan and I received an invite to hang out with DDave and his buddies, Rocky , Bill, Harlan and Harold for a day of duck hunting. Unfortunatly, my son couldnt make it, but I went ahead and went. I must say, it was the best day I've had since moving to SIL! The hospitality was unmatched, I was greeted with a magnificent bacon and egg breakfast and plenty of coffee to start the day, we then headed out the "pit" and I have to say Dave, you guys know how to set it up right!! This day has to go down in the history book of firsts for me! That pit was amazing! And out of all the ducks that we had fly over all day, only one escaped with its life!! what a fantastic day!!!! All I can say is "Dave, thank you very much!!!!"

One of the highlights of the day had to be when "Daves Chuck Wagon" appeared for lunch. Dave came right out to us, set up a portable kithen on the back of his truck and treated us to the finest grilled cheese and stew that ever graced a hunt on a cold day. That really hit the spot and warmed the belly!

I wasn't sure we were the best of hosts due to the previous nite's activities and I felt terrible I couldn't be hunting right alongside ya'all to act as the official BS detector. I am glad my partners got to meet you Scott and they concurred w/ my opinion that you are A-OK! Glad we could show you a good time and I hope to do it again w/ about a couple thousand snows overhead..

Tell those snow geese that I'm coming!! and hell's coming with me!!
Does anyone else find it ironic that a Detective and a donut guy hit it off?

To tell the honest truth, in my many years as the 5-O, I really could give a hoot about donuts....until Mr KrispyCreme appeared on the scene. I got burnt out pretty quick on those sugar rushes and now I just appreciate a well crafted item such as what EatMor is creating as we speak. I do need to get one of those crispies for sure! I could probably turn into Homer Simpson pretty quick..LOL Doh!
