Anyone else have any? Here's mine:

I caught myself starting to nod off about 9:30 this morning. I don't know what it was but I kept fading in and out even though I was trying to stay awake. Well, for some reason the ladder stand I was hunting on had a metal folding chair beneath it. Fearing I may drop my bow if I actually fell asleep, I hold it in my lap when sitting, I climbed down and took a nap in the chair. This was about 10.

I woke up about 11:10 to leaves being rustled, turned my head to look and seen two coyotes 15 feet from me. My movement made one of them scamper a few yards into the woods, the other just stood there trying to figure out what alarmed the other. After a few blind tries I finally got my release on the loop and managed to draw back, before I could even think about turning to aim at one they were gone. After realizing they walked a mere 7 feet from where I was I decided the stand wouldn't be that bad after all.

They weren't stalking me and I doubt they knew I was there until I moved, but it still rattled me a bit knowing that I was asleep and they were that close without me realizing it. It's a day that I wouldn't forget reagardless of getting my first bow kill.

sorry I missed this originally, cool story cls, I could tell you all kinds of stories from the past 24 years of bowhunting, but,
What Happens in the WoodZ, StayZ in the Woodz!
I did have a close encounter with a Yote back in '88, I won! his mounted head on my wall is better than my leg in his den, LOL

I hunted from the ground and last year a yote went behind a bruch pile that was behind me, while he wouldn't do much to get around the pile other than walk around it I waited to see what he did, if I had the .357 I might have shot through the pile at him (could see him pretty easily), but doing that with a 12ga seems a bit much (might take the .357 this year since I hunt the spot they pass though most and I hunt from the ground). If you ever see a yote though shoot it if you can kill it easily.

If I have a gun in my hands, I don't care if it's first light of the first day of shotgun season, I SHOOT!, about 4 years ago I shot 2 yotes before 7:30 on opening morning, and didn't see a deer that morning.

Got attacked by 3 big dogs 3 weeks ago that we took each other by surprise at my truck after squirrel hunting, on my own property.

They made it out that day but I am not saying if there are 3 less big dogs running loose today.

Fell asleep once in a deerstand and fell out, fell asleep another time (strapped in this time) and woke up to 3 deer out in front of me, then went back to sleep.

Sounds dangerous, shooting at something you can't see through a brush pile.

Funny - all these years of messing with the yotes.. never felt threatened by any of them.. they were always far more afraid and wary of me..they never messed with our dogs, and until we fenced in the yard, they would come to the house in the winter..

I could see him easily, he was more of a yote dog (had some german shepard it seemed) he had a black patch on his back, but it definately had yote. Yotes aren't a big issue, but yote dogs are usually a lot more calm around humans and will walk up to you, on a pig farm the owners of the land don't care if they're dead and wouldn't mind if you did it too.
