i have four pet deer, three does and a buck. i was wondering if anyone else raised some deer or knew anyone who deals with them. they're a great pet and was wondering if anyone would like getting into it?

I seen some on Rt 13 south of Bellville and the guy that lives right next to the entrance to Randolph SFWA has some.

There is a guy near Stonefort IL that has whitetails and also another guy that has an elk farm approx 5-6 miles from the whitetails.
I went out there a couple of years ago with the kids and took a few pictures of the elk.

If I had the land I would like to raise a few, would be great to learn while/from watching them during all seasons of the year.

you aint a kiddin gus, theres a guy here in belleville off of 15 that raises them. has about 5 or so. its kinda risky driving down 15 during rut becuz ive seen deer run across 4 lanes of highway from the woods on the opposite side to go get them does. my bro hit one couple years back. theres was also a guy in shiloah, il that had 2 twin bucks, but i havent seen them in a while so i think they might have died off becuz they were pretty old. im kinda opposed to having deer as a pet, their a wild animal that should be in the woods with plenty of space too roam, i guess what really steers me off to having deer as a pet is that whole jimmy houston story on that other thread.

I look at those deer along 13 every time I drive by. There is about 8 of em I think. I think that is a pretty small fence area, but I don't know much about deer farming. There is also some elk off 159 S. of B'ville towards the grain and feed store. (At least there was last year.) Other than farming them for pee, I don't know what you'd really want one for?

down south they have elk or carabu down around praire du rocher that area at least last year

That guy off 13 i think it is buy town hall archery has a small fence for deer i think for the amount of deer he has. our pen in approx. 22,500 sqr feet, which allows the deer plenty of room to run at full speed if they which. we also have a small pen to enclose our buck during the rut.

When headed South on 45 take the first right after Stonefort.
The deer are just after you turn right, on the left side of the road.

The elk place you continue on past the deer a few miles and I think you take a left when you come to the "T" or it just curves to the left.
Follow it for a few miles and you will see a tall fence around the perimeter.
Been a few years since I've been there.
